LucasPhotography student and CRLS senior Lucas Gibson is honored to have his photograph, A Class Act, chosen to hang in the President’s Committee of the Arts and the Humanities office in Washington, DC for the next year.

Only 25 student artworks in the entire country were selected from the National Scholastic Gold Key Exhibition (held in New York City in June 2015) to hang in this special exhibition in Washington, DC. Lucas, CRLS photography teacher Deborah Milligan, and Lucas' family (including CPS art teacher Lolly Lincoln) were invited to travel to the Department of Education in Washington, DC for an opening reception and ribbon cutting ceremony on September 25, 2015.

Lucas’ photograph hangs in the office of Rachel Goslins, Executive Director, President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. The other 24 student artworks, as well as photographs by artist Chuck Close, are also on display in the office’s gallery.
